So we're almost two weeks into NaNoWriMo and I have written just over 21,000 words of the fourth Maliha Anderson book (the target is 50,000 by the end of November). As previously mentioned I do like a deadline. If we add the previously written Chapter 1 (which you can read on Medium) that takes us up to nearly 30,000 which is about halfway through.
I must say I'm very pleased with the way it's going though with all the things that have been going on it's been quite tough. The first week I was suffering with a broken tooth, I hied me to the emergency dentist who filled it and gave me a prescription for antibiotics. Which I duly took and after 24 hours got a bad allergic reaction - itchy skin rash over 60% of my body. I stopped taking them but, as can happen, my body refused to acknowledge that the antibiotics were out of my system, so after a week I still have the problem.
Working and writing with this kind of distraction is diverting - at least when I'm intensely into the story I stop noticing, although it's starting to spread to my fingers. A doctor visit may be on the cards - the first time in twenty years.
I nearly forgot, the second Indie Steampunk Extravaganza - lots of steampunk books at only 99c (or 70p, or whatever it is in your local currency).
I will be on the Book of Face from about 7pm-9pm GMT (during the day for the US) and available for questions along with some of the other writers. Different ones at different times of the day, the list is at the event page.
